Who we are
Cheat Friend is an independent comparison site for discreet dating platforms in Europe. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data we collect
- Approximate location (country only) — to show the right country ranking. Derived from your IP via a third-party service. Not stored by us.
- Country/language preference — stored locally in your browser (localStorage), never sent to our servers.
- Anonymous analytics — only with your consent (page views, referrer, device class). No personal identifiers.
Legal basis
Strictly necessary processing is based on our legitimate interest in operating the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Analytics is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. When you click an affiliate link, the destination site (e.g. Victoria Milan) becomes the controller of any data you submit to them and is governed by their own privacy policy.
International transfers
Some of our service providers (analytics, IP geolocation) may process data outside the EEA. Where this happens, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Retention
Anonymous analytics are retained for 14 months. Consent records are kept for 12 months in your browser. We do not maintain a server-side user database.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. You can also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because we do not maintain user accounts, most of these rights apply to data held by our third-party processors.
